In memoriam: Profesor Slobodan Živanić (1940–2025)
Sa velikom tugom obaveštavamo da je preminuo profesor Slobodan Živanić, osnivač Udruženja za medicinu sporta Srbije i pionir sportske medicine u našoj zemlji.
Profesor Živanić je bio rodonačelnik testiranja aerobne sposobnosti u Vojsci Jugoslavije, kasnije u Vojsci Srbije, mentor i komentor u većini doktorata iz sportske medicine. Autor je brojnih udžbenika, veliki poštovalac i hroničar istorije sportske medicine Srbije, ali pre svega posvećen suprug i otac Jovane i Nevene.
Bio je čovek starog kova, kakvih danas gotovo da više nema. Profesor Živanić je bio predsednik Udruženja za medicinu sporta Srbije do 2008. godine, a od tada jedini počasni predsednik, što je ostao sve do poslednjih dana.
Prof. Živanić je sa svima je gradio iskrene odnose i svakome je pomogao koliko je mogao. Izvlačio je iz nas najbolje i pomogao da postanemo ono što smo danas.
Sahrana će biti održana na Novom groblju u ponedeljak, 15. septembra u 12.30 časova, a opelo počinje u 12 časova.

In Memoriam: Professor Slobodan Živanić (1940–2025)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Slobodan Živanić, the founder of the Sports Medicine Association of Serbia and a pioneer in the field of sports medicine in our country.
Professor Živanić was the father of aerobic capacity testing in the Yugoslav Army, later in the Serbian Army, and served as mentor and co-mentor to the majority of doctoral theses in sports medicine. He was the author of numerous textbooks, a passionate historian of Serbian sports medicine, and above all, a devoted husband and father to Jovana and Nevena.
A man of the old school — the kind we rarely see today — Professor Živanić served as President of the Sports Medicine Association of Serbia until 2008, after which he became its only Honorary President, a title he carried with dignity until his final days.
Prof. Slobodan Zivanic built honest relationships, and he helped whenever he could. He brought out the best in us and helped us become who we are today.
The funeral will take place at Novo Groblje Cemetery on Monday, September 15, at 12:30 p.m., preceded by a memorial service at 12:00 noon.
